A Favor: Leave a RoseHosting Review
It’s my goal to make WP-Tweaks a comprehensive resource for web hosting. I’d really appreciate it if you took a few seconds to write a review for RoseHosting!
Migration was easy
Just moved over the RoseHosting, and the migration was dead simple. The team did all the work, and I didn’t have to lift a finger! (apart from providing them with access to the data)
They know their stuff!
A lot of hosting providers simply run pre written scripts and call it “managed” hosting. The support guys RoseHosting however, really knows their stuff well. They can easily deal with complex configurations.
For example, they helped me migrate an entire PHP site and help with all the subsystem Varnish settings etc. It’s fantastic, and they even troubleshooted performance issues. Amazing service and knowledge. RoseHosting does one thing, and does it well.
straightforward VPS
I like rosehosting because I rarely have to contact them. Once my VPS is up and running, it just works. Their interface is a bit simple, but it gets the job done.
Excellent customer service
RoseHosting’s live chat is amazing. I got a response almost immediately, and they cleared up my problem without any hassle! This is why I continue to host with them!

RoseHosting FAQs:
Here are some common questions about RoseHosting.
Does RoseHosting Offer Monthly Discount Plans?
There are two types of RoseHosting discounts – for monthly hosting, and for yearly hosting. The yearly discount coupon gives you a flat 10% off the total purchase price when you buy annually. The monthly coupon, on the other hand, gives you 50% off the price of the first month’s payment.
Here’s the coupon for a max 50% off.
What makes RoseHosting unique is that the yearly plan acts as a RoseHosting renewal coupon for life! Unlike other providers who give you a discount only for the first billing cycle, RoseHosting allows you to keep it even for renewals. That’s truly unique!
While placing your order, you can switch between monthly and annual billing on the order page after choosing your domain options as shown here:

So if you just want to test out the waters, the monthly payment plan is a great way to host your website without committing fully. The best part is that all payments are pro-rated – even after using the associated coupon! For example, say you purchase a basic hosting plan in the middle of the month, you’ll only be charged for half the amount as shown here:

RoseHosting is very fair and transparent about their pricing options. No hidden charges and no automatic “opt-out” upsells. What you see is what you get.
How Do I Apply a RoseHosting Coupon Code in 2021?
You can apply a coupon at the order screen after you click the appropriate plan. On the right-hand side, you’ll see a link called “Use Promotional Code” as shown here:

Or if you’re ordering a custom VPS server, use the option “Add Coupon Code” like this:

When you click the coupon codes in the above table, they’ll be automatically copied to your clipboard. From there, just paste them into the text boxes shown above and proceed. The discount amounts will be calculated and shown immediately:

It’s pretty simple and transparent.
What’s RoseHosting Customer Service Like?
RoseHosting has some excellent customer reviews. They feature in my list of top 3 web hosts for customer support including SiteGround, and Liquid Web.
They have a customer review rating of 9.6 out of 10 on TrustPilot as of this writing. Here are a few sample reviews showcasing their customer support:

What’s interesting is that some of their customers have been with them for a long time. It’s a good sign when a hosting provider has long-term clients who are happy with the service:

A lot of hosting providers try and upsell their products. I remember when I had a DDoS problem with Bluehost and they tried to move me to their “pro” plan instead of helping me fix it. RoseHosting doesn’t do that. Instead of trying to make you purchase a more expensive plan, they do their best to help you squeeze the most out of your existing package:

Where is RoseHosting’s Support Staff Located?
All of RoseHosting’s support is based in the US. They take care of their own customer service and don’t outsource it to anyone else. They have three ways you can get in touch with them:
- Ticketing System
- Live Chat
They maintain a ticketing response time of less than 5-minutes. That’s pretty cool! If you email them at support@rosehosting.com, a ticket will be created automatically for you.
In addition, they have a complete knowledgebase for their servers, and this includes manuals for two separate web panels, namely:
- cPanel
- DirectAdmin
Who Owns RoseHosting?
RoseHosting is privately owned. That means that it hasn’t yet fallen under the arm of any giant hosting conglomerate like EIG. It was founded in 2001 by Bobi Ruzinov, and specializes in VPS hosting. Though they also have a shared hosting plan.
Here are their contact details:
RoseHosting Phone 1: (888) 767-3467 (US)
RoseHosting Phone 2: (314) 275-0414 (International)
E-mail: support@rosehosting.com
Where Are RoseHosting’s Datacenters?
RoseHosting’s datacenter is located at the following address:
Saint Louis,
MO
63368
United States
Here it is on the map:

It’s worth noting that RoseHosting owns its own servers and hardware. It means that it’s not renting it out or leasing them from anyone else. This is no server “white label” or rebranding effort. It also means that they don’t need to go through intermediaries for problems affecting their servers – they can do it themselves.
It’s a bit closer to the East coast of the US than the west. It also means they have no datacenters in Asia or Europe. If you’re looking for a datacenter in Asia, I suggest you find a provider with a location in Singapore, since it’s the best city for datacenters in that part of the world.
Does RoseHosting Oversell its Servers?
Overselling is a major problem across web hosts. This is particularly true due to the lack of transparency surrounding server crowding – only SiteGround is fully transparent about its shared resources. However, RoseHosting has a long history of avoiding overselling.
For example, here’s their Linux virtual server page way back in 2001 promising no more than 15 virtual servers per machine:

Incidentally, RoseHosting was also the first web host to offer Linux virtual servers in the hosting world! That not only shows how long they’ve been around, but also that they’re quite a leader in the field, and experiment with emerging technologies to stay ahead of the curve.
Review of Unique RoseHosting Features
My Rating: 4.8/5
There are quite a lot of things that make RoseHosting unique. Here’s a run-down of all the features that set them apart from the competition:
Managed Servers with Root Access
Some VPS providers like SiteGround don’t give you root access to their systems in a managed environment. They think (rightly), that if something goes wrong, they’ll end up having to clean the mess, which can get time consuming and expensive. RoseHosting however, allows root access on all its managed VPS servers.
Which brings me to the next unique feature.
1-Hour Free Web App Support Per Month
All VPS hosting providers have separate, paid packages for dedicated technical support. This is because technical support is expensive and requires a lot of hard work. RoseHosting provides 1-hr of free technical support for web apps per month! That’s an amazing value and it’s difficult to believe that it comes free with their plans.
If you need more than that, they have additional packages available as well.
LEMP Instead of LAMP
Almost all shared hosting plans run on the standard “LAMP” architecture – Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. RoseHosting on the other hand runs NGINX instead of Apache. This specialized configuration gives an edge – especially for services like WordPress, since NGINX also functions as a reverse proxy, and thus brings additional speed and reliability to WordPress installations.
Choice of Control Panels
If you purchase a VPS, you’re going to need some kind of control panel. RoseHosting offers three choices:
- cPanel (most commonly used) – $12/month
- DirectAdmin – $5/month
These require a non-refundable one-time payment as licensing fees. However, RoseHosting offers a free control panel of your choice with a VPS12 plan and above. That’s excellent value!
Free Let’s Encrypt SSL
Well before Google made SSL necessary, RoseHosting provided free Let’s Encrypt certificates for its sites. This means there’s no need to pay extra to move your site to HTTPS from HTTP. Here’s a tutorial on how to install Let’s Encrypt certificates via cPanel.
But if you want additional SSL protection, you can purchase that too. RoseHosting also offers the following types of SSL:
- Domain Validation
- Organization Validation
- Extended Validation
- Wildcard SSL
In addition, they offer SSLs from Certificate Authorities like:
- Comodo
- GeoTrust
- Thawte
- RapidSSL
Basically, a one-stop shop for all your SSL needs.
SSD Storage for All their Plans
While others have slowly started to catch up with the SSD bandwagon, RoseHosting has had SSD storage on all its plans for a long time at no additional cost. SSD is an order of magnitude faster than traditional hard drives for data storage and retrieval – especially for database heavy applications like WordPress.
It’s a different matter that you might not need SSD storage, depending on how much free memory you have, and the size of your database. But it’s always good to have SSDs in any case!
Custom VPS Plans in Addition to Regular Ones
RoseHosting’s specialty is VPS. As a result, it’s not surprising that they have a staggering nine default VPS configurations to choose from. They vary according to a bunch of parameters as shown here:

However, you can also create your own custom VPS solution by choosing the following parameters:
- RAM – 512 MB to 65 GB
- SSD disk storage – 10 GB to 1TB
- CPU Cores – 1 Core to 24 Cores
- Bandwidth – 2 TB to 50 TB
As shown here:

Along with a range of Linux OSs that you want installed by default. A managed DNS service is also included for free!
A Few Weak Points of RoseHosting
There are a couple of weak points with RoseHosting that I feel they could improve on:
Weekly Backups
Your server gets one weekly backup for free. In my opinion, this is a bit too low. In my article on CodeGuard alternatives, I show how some providers like A2 Hosting offer free “Server Rewinds” in real time, whereas others like SiteGround take daily backups of your server. A weekly backup is really very low.
RoseHosting does offer additional automatic backup options for a fee.
7-Day Money Back Guarantee
RoseHosting will refund your money within 7 days no questions asked if you want to revert your purchase for some reason. I personally think 7 days is enough, but other providers have far, far higher periods like 97 days for DreamHost!
It might, or it might not matter to you, but it’s definitely something worth noting.
Summary of RoseHosting
In the end, RoseHosting specializes in VPS. All their plans – from the cloud, to WordPress, to other application hosting like Magento etc focuses on VPS. They have traditional web hosting as well, but it’s less emphasized. If you’re looking for a long term hosting provider for your VPS needs, it’s hard to overlook RoseHosting. Their customer service is excellent, and their unique features allow you to craft the exact server you need, while at the same time, allowing you to upgrade whenever you want.
